Kanpur, November 15: Husband shot wife in Kalyanpur police station area of ​​the Kanpur district late in the night after a dispute with his wife. Neighbors arrived after hearing the sound of gunfire and informed the police about the incident. Police rushed to the spot and admitted the woman to a hospital in critical condition, where her condition remains critical.
Pankaj, a resident of Maswanpur in Kalyanpur, used to do tailoring work. In the same year 2019, on february 18 , he was married to Neha, living in Swaroop Nagar. Since the marriage, there was often a dispute between the two.
According to the information, Pankaj’s wife Neha on insisting to visit her maternal residence late Friday night has compelled her husband first to shoot her, and then shot himself in a very close range with a gun resulting in that he died on the spot, while the wife was found in pool of blood in bad condition. Meanwhile, hearing the sound of gunfire, the neighbors flew to their senses and immidieately informed the police after seeing the incident.
On getting the information of the incident, Kalyanpur Inspector Ashwani Pandey arrived at the crime scene with staion force and admitted the woman in critical condition to Halat Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, on getting the information about the incident, Superintendent of Police West Anil Kumar reached the spot and supervisied the entire spot.
On reaching the hospital, SP West also informed about the injured woman.
He said that there was often a dispute between the husband and wife about something or the other. Even today, there was some tussle between the two, after which the husband shot the wife first and then he also committed suicide by shooting himself by the same gun.
While, the treatment of a woman is underway in the hospital. The family said during an interrogation that at the time of the incident, the mother of the deceased had gone to her daughter’s house, while the brother of the injured woman, Rahul told that his brother-in-law told him to take his sister back to home. At present, the body of the husband has been sent for the autopsy and further enqiury has been initiated in this matter, police informed.
