Lucknow, 06 March: The family members created a ruckus in the post-mortem house at the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) on Wednesday, alleging that the body was being changed. The victim’s family has filed a complaint against the employees accusing them of negligence.
Vipin Kumar, a resident of Unnao district, told in his complaint to the police that on Tuesday, he had brought his critically ill wife Sandhya to the Medical College Trauma Center for treatment. She died during treatment. After completing the formalities, when we reached the post mortem house to collect the body, we came to know that the body had been taken away from there. How did the employee do the post-mortem and give the body to someone else without our knowledge?Â
The victim has requested the police station in-charge to take this into consideration and investigate and return the body.
Preliminary information has been received from the police that bodies of two women with the same name were found in the post-mortem house. The name of one deceased woman was Sandhya Dubey and the name of the other was Sandhya Prajapati. The post mortem of both took place on the same day. The post-mortem personnel handed over the body of Sandhya Prajapati to the family members of Sandhya Dubey. The family members also performed the last rites of that body.
At the same time, when the family members of Sandhya Prajapati saw the body of Sandhya Dubey, they said that it was not the body of Sandhya Prajapati. The family members started creating ruckus. When the post-mortem personnel came to know about this, they immediately took the dead body of Sandhya Dubey into their custody.Â
However, Sandhya Prajapati’s family members are angry with the negligence of the post-mortem house personnel and are demanding action against the culprits.
