Lucknow, June 25: The Yogi government is providing 10 hours of free electricity from 2735 feeders for agricultural work. Soon the number of agricultural feeders will cross five thousand, said UPPCL Chairman.
It is worth noting that free electricity is given to 14.21 lakh tubewell holder farmers. Farmers are the priority of Chief Minister Yogi. He lays special emphasis on the implementation and execution of schemes related to farmers.
In the cabinet meeting held under the leadership of the Chief Minister in March, the proposal for free electricity for irrigation and agricultural work from tubewells was approved. In the budget also, a budget of Rs 1100 crore was arranged by the Yogi government for free irrigation.
Goyal informed that in view of this, farmers have started getting the facility of free irrigation from April. More than 5433 feeders are proposed to be used for agricultural work, there are a total of 23226 electric feeders in the state. Out of this, more than 5433 feeders are approved to be separated for agricultural purposes. Out of this, 2735 feeders have been separated for agricultural purposes and through these, farmers are being given 10 hours of free electricity supply for irrigation and other agricultural purposes. The remaining 20491 feeders are being supplied electricity 24 hours a day without separation. 24-hour electricity being provided in rural- urban areas of UP Even in the scorching heat, 24-hour electricity supply was ensured in rural and urban areas of UP. By providing electricity equally in all 75 districts, citizens were kept full of facilities.
He added that apart from ensuring electricity to the general public, farmers are also being given 10 hours of electricity by the Yogi government for agricultural purposes. The target set for agricultural feeders will be completed within the stipulated time.Â
Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), Ashish Kumar Goyal said that as per the intention of the government, 24-hour electricity supply has been ensured in the entire state despite the scorching heat. In the same sequence, this scheme started by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the betterment of the farmers is also being operated on priority basis. Through continuous monitoring, farmers are being provided 10 hours of free electricity supply for irrigation and other agricultural works. The target set by the state government for agricultural feeders will be completed in the stipulated time.
