Mumbai, 05 July: So far, 11 people have been injured in the stampede during Team India’s victory procession on Marine Drive on Thursday. All of them are being treated in GT, St. George, Nair and Cama hospitals.
Among the injured is a pregnant woman, who is being treated in the ICU of Cama Hospital.
World champion players of Team India reached Mumbai on Thursday. These players were welcomed by fans standing on both sides of the roads from Mumbai Airport to Nariman Point.
After this, the players of Team India took out a victory procession on an open bus from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium. During this, there was a stampede among the lakhs of fans gathered here, due to which 11 people were injured.
Due to the celebration and rain, a large number of slippers were left on the Marine Drive Chowpatty, which was cleaned by the ‘Safayi Mitras’ this morning.
