Modi in Russia: Putin agrees to release Indians in Russian military

Moscow, 09 July: Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to release Indians
serving the Russian Military at warfronts with Ukraine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested on Monday at a private dinner. Those
wishing to return to India will be released, Putin assured.

It was a great relief to the families of Indians recruited by the Russian military. Putin has
given instructions to the authorities concerned due to Modi’s intervention. The
release is expected to take place within weeks from various places of their
posting. .

The issue was being raised through the Indian Embassy in Moscow and during discussion by
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Russian counterpart Sergey
Lavrov.
