Kejriwal’s judicial custody extended till July 25 in Delhi Excise Scam

New Delhi, July 12: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till July 25 in the Delhi Excise Scam case. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja ordered the extension of judicial custody. Rouse Avenue Court had sent Kejriwal to judicial custody till today on June 29 in the CBI case.

The court had taken cognizance of the ED chargesheet on July 10 and ordered Kejriwal to appear on July 12.

ED had filed the sixth supplementary chargesheet on May 10, in which BRS leader K Kavita, Chanpreet Singh, Damodar Sharma, Prince Kumar, Arvind Singh have been made accused.

The court had taken cognizance of the sixth supplementary chargesheet on May 29. On May 17, ED filed the seventh supplementary chargesheet, in which Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal have been made accused. So far 18 people have been arrested in this case, including Chief Minister Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, BRS leader K Kavita. Supreme Court has granted regular bail to Sanjay Singh in this.

After not getting protection from arrest from Delhi High Court, ED arrested Kejriwal late evening on March 21 after questioning him.

On May 10, Supreme Court granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1, after which Kejriwal surrendered on June 2. During judicial custody, Kejriwal was arrested by CBI from Tihar Jail on June 26.
