CM Yogi reaches hospital to meet the injured in Lucknow building accident

Lucknow, 08 September: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Lok Bandhu Hospital on Sunday to inquire about the condition of the people injured in the Transport Nagar accident. After talking to the patients and their relatives, the Chief Minister instructed the doctors to provide better treatment. Eight people have lost their lives in this incident and 28 people are injured. The NDRF-SDRF team is still carrying out the rescue operation.

Sarojini Nagar Police has registered a case against Rakesh Singhal, owner of Harmilap Tower, on the complaint of Transport Nagar Chowki Incharge Mahesh Kumar. It has been said in the FIR that substandard material has been used to save money in constructing the building. The tenants allege that despite complaints of the building being dilapidated, the owner did not pay attention to it. Violating the standards, he started giving commercial building on rent. A case of unintentional murder has been registered against him. The police has started investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, the Lucknow Development Authority has also started its investigation in this case. The adjacent building has also been sealed due to its dilapidated condition.

Police officials say that a three-storey building named Harmilap collapsed on Saturday evening. On receiving information that many people were trapped in it, NDRF-SDRF, local police’s fire brigade team were engaged in warfooting rescue work. More than 20 hours have passed and the team is still carrying out rescue operations. Eight people died in the accident and 28 are injured. The injured were admitted to three hospitals.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Lokbandhu Hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured. Here he went to each injured patient and enquired about their well-being. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob, District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar, and others were present with the Chief Minister.
