Baba Siddiqui murder case: Mumbai Crime Branch issues Lookout Circular against ‘wanted’ accused

Mumbai, 17 October: The Mumbai Crime Branch Police on Thursday issued a lookout circular (LOC) against the wanted accused in the NCP leader ( Ajit group) Baba Siddiqui murder case to prevent them from fleeing the country.

Among these accused, Shivkumar Gautam is accused of being the shooter, Shubham Lonkar of being the mastermind of the entire murder and Zeeshan Akhtar of supplying weapons and helping in the murder.

Police sources said that this step will prevent them from fleeing the country and will also help the police to catch them if they try to flee abroad.

The main shooter Shivkumar Gautam has been absconding since the murder of the NCP leader in Khernagar, Bandra East. Police had arrested Gurmel Baljit Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap after the incident. After this, the police also arrested Praveen Lonkar from Pune. All three are in police custody till October 21 and the police is investigating.

During the investigation of this case, the police has come to know that Gautam and two others who went with him to the spot, Gurmel Baljit Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, were in contact with Shubham Lonkar, a resident of Akola, and his brother Praveen Lonkar, who runs a dairy in Warje, Pune. The shooters in Maharashtra were in contact with Shubham Lonkar, who was earlier arrested by the Akola police in an Arms Act case. Also, these shooters were in contact with Akhtar, a history-sheeter from Jalandhar. Police sources said that both Shubham and Akhtar were working for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

During the investigation, it has also been come to light that the accused had done recce of the house and office of the slain leader several times in 25 days. Also, they had brought extra shirts with them, which could help them escape out of the city after the incident. The investigation also revealed that Shubham Lonkar’s brother Praveen Lonkar had transferred Rs 60,000 to the shooters’ bank account, which they used to buy a second-hand TVS Apache bike from Pune for Rs 32,000. Police have seized three weapons in this case. These include a high-grade Australian-made Glock pistol, a Turkish pistol and a country-made pistol. These are being forensically examined.
