New Delhi, October 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a bilateral meeting on Tuesday before the BRICS summit held in the Russian city of Kazan.
Giving full support to peace and stability in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Prime Minister Modi said that all our efforts give priority to humanity. India is ready to provide all possible support in the coming times.
During the bilateral meeting, Prime Minister Modi said about the Russia and Ukraine conflict that he has been in constant touch with both the countries. He believes and has reiterated earlier that problems should be resolved in a peaceful manner.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Modi has reached Kazan today to participate in the BRICS summit. Leaders of BRICS member countries Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are participating in it.
Congratulating Russia for its successful presidency of BRICS, Prime Minister Modi said that BRICS has created its own identity in 15 years and now many countries of the world want to join it.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked President Putin for the friendly and warm welcome and hospitality. Expressing happiness over the venue of the meeting, he said that India has deep and historical relations with this city. The opening of India’s new Consulate General in Kazan will further strengthen relations with Russia.
Modi mentioned that this is his second visit to Russia in three months after coming to power again. He said that this shows that there is close coordination and deep friendship between the two countries.
