14 UP PCS officers of 2008 batch to be promoted to IAS, DPC clears proposal

Lucknow, 19 November: The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting regarding 2008 batch Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officers in Uttar Pradesh was concluded. All the related proposals for promoting these officers from 7600 grade pay to 8700 grade pay have been approved.

This meeting was held under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary IAS Manoj Kumar Singh. It was decided that all PCS officers except tainted officers will be promoted. There are 14 PCS officers of 2008 batch. They will be promoted to new grade pay on the basis of merit. There are 22 PCS officers of 2011 batch and 47 PCS officers of 2012 batch. These PCS officers who have completed 12 years of service will also be given new grade pay on the basis of seniority.

As soon as the PCS officers of the 2008 batch get the benefit of this, the path to becoming an IAS will become easier. The officers of this batch will also be saved from the financial loss of salary in future.
