Bypolls: BJP and its allies leading on 7 out of 9 assembly seats in UP

Lucknow, 23 November: Counting of votes for by-elections on nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh is underway. According to initial trends, BJP and its allies are leading on seven out of nine seats.

If we look at the trends so far on Kundarki seat, one Hindu candidate is outperforming 11 Muslim candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ramveer Singh is leading by more than 91 thousand votes till the time of writing this news. After the death of strong leader Shafiqur Rahman Barq, his son Ziaur Rahman Barq vacated this seat after winning the Lok Sabha elections. BJP candidate is leading, Samajwadi Party’s Mohammad Rizwan, who contested against him, is at a very low level of around 10 thousand votes, while Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram)’s Chand Babu is at 3,221 votes.

In the 2022 UP assembly elections, Ziaur Rahman of Samajwadi Party won this seat by one lakh 25 thousand votes. This time SP seems to be far away from victory. After the counting of 17th round in Kundarki by-election, BJP candidate Ramveer Singh has left SP behind by a huge margin. BJP has gone ahead by 91 thousand votes. In the last election, BJP had fielded Kamal Kumar against SP. Kamal Kumar gave a tough fight to Ziaur Rahman, he got 82 thousand 467 votes, while Mohammad Rizwan was from Bahujan Samaj Party. Rizwan has contested this time on SP ticket.

Karhal

The 22nd round of counting of votes has been completed on Karhal seat of Mainpuri. SP candidate Tej Pratap Yadav is now ahead by 18,668 votes. He has got 76 thousand 71 votes so far. BJP candidate has got 57503 votes. At the same time, BSP candidate now seems to be out of the fight. He has got only 5447 votes so far.

Khair-

In the 20th phase of by-election on Khair assembly seat of Aligarh, BJP is leading and SP is trailing. BJP’s Surendra Diler has got 68730 votes. SP’s Charu Ken has got 39801 votes. BSP’s Dr Pehal Singh has got 9546 votes. Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram)’s Nitin Kumar Chautel has got 5398 votes.

Majhawan

19 rounds of counting of votes have been completed on Majhawan assembly seat. BJP candidate is leading by 2997 votes. BJP’s Suchismita Maurya- 48049, SP’s Dr. Jyoti Bind got 45072 and BSP’s Deepu Tiwari got 19614 votes.

Meerapur

According to the 13th round of counting of votes on Meerapur seat of Muzaffarnagar, RLD’s Mithlesh Pal has got 3525 votes. SP candidate Sumbul Rana got 1934 votes. BSP’s Shah Nazar got 61 votes and ASP’s Zahid Hussain got 894 votes. The RLD candidate is leading by 18,847 votes so far.

Ghaziabad

BJP – Sanjeev Sharma – 63848

SP – Singh Raj Jatav – 21283

BSP – PN Garg – 8217

BJP candidate Sanjeev Sharma is leading by 42565 votes.

Sisamau

20 rounds of counting of votes have been completed on Sisamau assembly seat of Kanpur, in which SP is ahead by 8629 votes. SP candidate Naseem Solanki got 69666 votes, while BJP candidate Suresh Awasthi got 61037 votes. BSP candidate Birendra Shukla got 1409 votes. There was a festive atmosphere in SP, workers shouted slogans and burst firecrackers.
