Mumbai, November 27: The path of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) becoming the Chief Minister in Maharashtra has become clear. Acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Wednesday that the Shiv Sena Shinde group will support the person to whom senior BJP leaders Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will give the reins of the state.
Shinde said that on Thursday there will be a meeting of the leaders of the BJP-led NDA alliance of Maharashtra with Amit Shah in Delhi. After this, a decision will be taken on the name of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Acting Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde told reporters at his residence in Thane on Wednesday that he spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the phone on Tuesday. At that time I had clearly said that whoever you make the Chief Minister, I will support him.
Eknath Shinde said that I am repeating the same thing here today. Whatever decision Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah take regarding the post of Chief Minister, it will be acceptable to us. Eknath Shinde said that in the last two and a half years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister stood like a rock behind his government. The state received large scale development funds from the Centre for its development, so that they could take forward the development works of the state. This is why the people of the state have given a huge majority to the BJP-led NDA alliance. Therefore, under whose leadership the government will be formed in the state, he will continue to work as a common worker.
Eknath Shinde said that Bala Saheb Thackeray’s dream was to make an ordinary Shiv Sainik the Chief Minister. That dream was fulfilled by Modi and Shah. Shinde said that they stood behind me like a mountain. I have not taken a single leave in two and a half years. I worked day and night. I worked as the Chief Minister of the common man. I was introduced as Ladle Bhai. This is satisfying for me.
Meanwhile, BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule has welcomed this statement of acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Bawankule said that Eknath Shinde has taken a very thoughtful decision in the interest of the people of the state. The central leadership will take a decision on the post of Chief Minister after discussing with the NDA leaders of Maharashtra in this regard on Thursday.
