Tragic: 12 people died in two different road accidents in UP

Lucknow, 06 December: So far, 12 people have died and 10 people have been injured in road accidents in Pilibhit and Chitrakoot districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The condition of two of the injured remains critical. The first incident is from Pilibhit district. A car lost control and collided with a tree in Newaria town on the Tanakpur highway in the district. Six people, including the bride’s father, died in the accident, while four people were injured. Those who lost their lives are Sharif Ahmed (50), Bahauddin (60), Munni Devi (65), Raqib (10), driver Akram (35) and 65-year-old Manjud Ahmed, residents of Uttarakhand. The injured include eight-year-old Ghulam Ahmed, Raees, Amjadi, Jafri Begum. Among them, the condition of Ghulam and Raees is critical.

Newaria SHO Rupa Bisht said that Husna Bi, a resident of village Jor of Khatima Kotwali, got married to Anwar, a resident of village Chandoi of Pilibhit, on Wednesday. Anwar had organized a wedding (feast) at his home on Thursday. People from the girl’s side had come to attend it. A total of 10 people were in the car. On Thursday night, while overtaking near Tanakpur Highway, the uncontrolled car collided with a tree. Six people died and four people were injured in the accident.

The second accident took place on Jhansi-Mirzapur National Highway in Chitrakoot district. In the accident that took place on Friday morning near Raipura police station of the district, six people travelling in a Bolero died on the spot, while six people were seriously injured. The deceased have been identified as Nanhe, Hariram (45), Mohan (45), Ramu (44), Mangana (65) and Ramswaroop Yadav, residents of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, while Jamuna (42), Kamta, Phula (40) wife of Jamuna, Raj Ahirwar (18) son of Jamuna, Akash (15) son of Jamuna and an unidentified person are seriously injured. They were admitted to the district hospital, out of which two were in a serious condition and after first aid, the doctors referred them to Prayagraj Medical College.

District Magistrate Shivsharanappa GN and Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh reached the district hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured.
