Lucknow, January 11: Mithilesh Narayan, regional intellectual head of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s(RSS) eastern Uttar Pradesh region, said that protecting the religion is the biggest effort. In India, four types of goals have been described, in which the Religion comes the first. Swami Vivekananda, the protector of Religion who defended his own religion, had showed the world that effort.
Mithilesh Narayan, as the keynote speaker at a seminar organized in the auditorium of the Department of Geology on the eve of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary at Lucknow University, said that achieving two goals outside India is considered the best and these two goals are considered, ‘Artha’ and ‘Kama’. Where as, there are four types of goals in India, which we have heard and understood and these are Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha, the first thing about it is the Dharma(Religion).
He said that Swami Vivekananda spoke about the Indian religion and culture on the world stage in the Dharma Sabha outside the country where he described the religion as primary. When he returned to the country, people saw him rubbing his body on the ground. People believed that Swamiji, who had gone to Chicago, has changed or his brain has been affected. After rubbing his body on the ground, Swami Vivekananda told the people that now I have removed the dust from outside culture on my body and feeling satisfied by applying the soil of my country. He showed the form of religion to the world that the youth of today should adopt.
“Swami Vivekananda had asked to learn English but not to adopt it, still people started adopting English after learning the language. English songs, costumes and celebrations began. Valiantine arrived in the country and people started celebrating birthdays. Children are now being taught to cut cakes in their birthdays and children are learning to cut with knives. Whereas in our country there was a culture of connecting on the day of birthday,” added Narayan.
Mithilesh Narayan added further that the form of the saint is shown now a days, it is depicted in a bad way. The true form of the saint was carried by Swami Vivekananda. Today, it has become more popular to show the saint as an ‘Asadhu’. But it is important to study the true nature of the saint in place of the bad form.
On this occasion, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Municipal Director SN Jha, Uttar Pradesh’s co-worker Abhishek Mohan, Nagar Karyavah Akhand and Lucknow University professor and reader from various departments are present.
