Double engine government working for farmers: Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, 23 December: Addressing the program organized in the Vidhan Bhavan premises on the 122nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh,

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the issues for which Chaudhary Sahab had differences with the Congress after independence were the issues of farmers. Prime Minister Modi worked on those issues with priority for the first time. Modi said that we have to double the income of the farmer. The Prime Minister’s emphasis is on reducing the cost and increasing production. Only through this we can make the farmers prosperous.

Yogi said that Chaudhary Charan Singh used to say that if the farmer is poor, India cannot become rich. To make India prosperous, we have to make the food-providing farmers prosperous.

Chief Minister said that the double engine government started many schemes for the farmers. The outstanding amount of sugarcane farmers was paid. It is necessary to adopt technology in farming. Farmers are getting the benefit of Kisan Samman Nidhi. Uttar Pradesh has very fertile land. It is the infinite grace of nature and God. There is sufficient water resource. Unirrigated areas are being irrigated. Natural farming is being promoted. Efforts are also being made to make farming toxin-free. Natural farming is being done in 1.25 lakh hectares of area in the state.

On this occasion, tractors were also given to 11 farmers under the Chief Minister Krishak Yojana. The Chief Minister honored agricultural scientists and farmers. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantradev Singh, Cooperative Minister JPS Rathore, Fisheries Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, MLC Ramchandra Pradhan, MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora, Jaidevi and Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar were present in the program.

Farmers and officials were honoured

The Chief Minister honoured Shyam Dulare Yadav (Gorakhpur) for best production of wheat, Nandlal (Pilibhit) for paddy, Vachan Lal (Bahraich) for maize production, Rajiv Kumar (Auraiya) for mustard and rye by giving them shawl, certificate and one lakh rupees. In the distinguished women category, Rajkumari (Lucknow) for beekeeping, Yogendra Kumar Singh (Mirzapur) for natural farming, Udyam Mahila Producer Company Limited (Bahraich) in FPO, Dharmendra Kumar Singh (Gorakhpur) for horticultural farming, Dr. Prashant Kumar of Hamirpur, scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra etc. were honoured.
