Kanpur, January 12: The Barra Police have busted a flesh trade racket from a house in Meherban Singh Ka Purva area of Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
Agents ย used to supply young women to customers by forming a WhatsApp group. Police have arrested six people, including two women from the house. The arrested men used to impersonate as journalists to show off in the society, police said.
Superintendent of Police(SP) South Aparna Gupta said on Sunday that the Barra police have received information about running a sex racket from a house in Meherban Singh Ka Purva, quickly acting on the information, the Barra police raided the house and arrested four alleged journalists including two young women from the spot in an objectionable position. When the police interrogated the arrested people and examined their mobile phones, a Whatsapp group was found.
SP South said that photographs of beautiful women were shared on this group and when a member of the group asked to send a call girl, then they asked for the payment in lieu of sending girls to the customer. Only after taking the full payment, the girl was sent to the customer. This amount also included the cost of the travel of the call girl. According to the deal, the amount was collected from two and a half thousand to nine thousand rupees.
Detained persons used to pose as news portal journalists
Police also arrested Munna Singh, a resident of Dada Nagar, who used to strike a pose as the state head of the news portal, among those running sex rackets.
Apart from this, Mangal Prasad Paswan, a resident of Bakhatauri Purva Naubasta, a resident of Barra-8, Vimlesh Tiwari, Nirendra Singh Naubasta, have also been arrested. The two arrested women had arrived from Agra two days earlier. Mangal Prasad was operating the racket in a rented house in Meherban Singh Ka Purwa area. Objectionable material, two PAN cards, three ATMs, five ID cards of the news portal and eight mobiles have been recovered from the spot.
