Lucknow, January 09: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has canceled the police radio operator recruitment process issued by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board. As soon as the recruitment is canceled, the central agencies will be active and the investigation can also tighten the noose of investigation in this new case on the former officers of the board. The previous investigation is still in progress.
A single bench of Justice Alok Mathur, while hearing the petition filed by Ravi Shukla, said that the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board can change the eligibility standards for recruitment at the government level. The board has no right to make changes. The board will now have to complete the process afresh.
It is noteworthy that the Police Recruitment Board had issued recruitment for 936 posts of Radio Operator in the year 2022. About 80 thousand candidates had applied for this and 40 thousand took the examination. The result of the exam was not declared because the matter went to court.
The reason was that when the notification for recruitment was issued, a diploma qualification was required for application. Earlier, the then chairman of the board, Renuka, had passed a proposal to allow degree holders to apply for this recruitment. The present chairman, Rajiv Krishna, cancelled the proposal to consider degree holders as eligible. After this, the candidates went to Allahabad court against this decision. Giving the verdict on this, the court has cancelled the process.
