Mahakumbh Nagar, January 19: A massive fire broke out in a camp under the railway bridge in Sector 19 of Mahakumbh Mela area on Sunday at around 4:15 pm, creating chaos everywhere. Many tents have been burnt due to the fire. Several dozen fire tender vehicles were engaged to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit.
On getting information about the incident, senior officials of the police department have reached the spot. However, no official statement has been issued in this regard yet.
People around the camp said that a tent caught fire near bridge number 13 in Sector 19 of the fair area, by the time the fire was controlled, the fire spread. The fire has been controlled after the fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Due to the fire, traffic on the bridge going across from Daraganj was stopped resulting in huge traffic jam at Daraganj intersection was seen.
