Mahakumbh Nagar, 28 January: The district administration and the police commissionerate are fully alert regarding the second ‘Amrit Snan’ of Mahakumbh i.e. “Mauni Amavasya”. Therefore, heavy strict security arrangements in the entire fair area along with Prayagraj is in place.
On Mauni Amavasya, the devotee who comes from whichever direction, will have to take a dip in Ganga, Yamuna and underground Saraswati in the same direction and become a part of virtue. This preparation has been done by the fair administration in view of easy bathing and safety of the devotees on Mauni Amavasya. For security reasons, traffic has been closed on all 30 pontoon bridges of the fair area from today itself.
According to the information received from the fair administration, a day before Mauni Amavasya i.e. till 12 noon on Tuesday, 10 lakh Kalpavasis and 1.78 crore devotees have taken bath. From Makar Sankranti to 27 January, 14.76 crore devotees have taken a dip in the Sangam of faith.
The Prayagraj Mela Authority is working on its pre-planned plan to control the crowd of devotees on Mauni Amavasya and to facilitate bathing. The entire fair area has been declared a no vehicle zone and entry of vehicles has been banned.
Even before Mauni Amavasya, a huge crowd of devotees has started gathering in Maha Kumbh on Wednesday. Devotees are moving towards Sangam from every direction. A flood of devotees can be seen at railway stations, bus stops and highways. About 10 crore devotees are expected to arrive on the day of Mauni Amavasya.
The fair area has become a no vehicle zone
The fair administration and Kumbh Police have made extensive preparations in view of the Amrit Snan festival. The entire fair area has been declared a no vehicle zone. The work of barricading on the Sangam shores is being completed rapidly so that the crowd remains under control. Special arrangements have been made in every sector and zone for the movement of devotees. No kind of protocol will be applicable during this time.
ICCC active for crowd management
ICCC (Integrated Control and Command Center) is monitoring to ensure that excessive crowd does not gather at Sangam Nose for bathing. Special teams have been deployed for quick action in crowded areas. Special monitoring is being done on major routes. Also, unruly and suspicious people are also being monitored.
Special arrangements for parking
All parking areas have been activated, where devotees are also getting basic facilities. According to the traffic plan, first the nearest parking is being parked there and after that the second parking is being used. More than 2000 new signages have been installed in all the areas so that people can easily go in the right direction.
