Ghazipur, 31 January: A vehicle carrying pilgrims from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh met with an accident on Friday on the highway near Kusumhi Kala in Nandganj police station area of โโGhazipur district.
Eight people died in this while twelve people were injured. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the road accident in Ghazipur district. He has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased.
Chief Minister has directed the district administration officials to immediately send the injured to the hospital and provide them proper treatment.
Along with this, he also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Superintendent of Police Dr Iraj Raja has confirmed this. He told that eight devotees have died in the road accident. After taking sacred bath in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, about 20 devotees from Bansgaon Gorakhpur were returning home in a pickup, when this accident happened near Revasa village of Kusumhi under Nandganj police station area. The injured are being admitted to the hospital for treatment and efforts are being made to identify the bodies.
Meanwhile, on receiving the news of the accident, the BJP district president Sunil Singh reached Ghazipur Medical College with his workers and took stock of the relief work.
