Kolkata, 05 February: The West Bengal government has decided to give land to the Border Security Force (BSF) in two more districts of the state so that fencing and post construction can be done on the border with Bangladesh.

An official gave this information on Wednesday. He said that this decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held in Navanna under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee till late Tuesday evening.

According to the senior official, 0.05 acres of land in Binnaguri of Jalpaiguri district and 19.73 acres of land in Narayanpur of Malda district will be handed over to the BSF.

Earlier, in a meeting held on January 27, the government had decided to give 0.9 acres of land in Karimpur of Nadia district to the BSF. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had recently accused the BSF of allowing infiltration from Bangladesh.

At the same time, the BJP has accused the Trinamool government of not cooperating in the work of fencing the border. After this, senior BSF officials held a meeting with top officials of the state government. In that meeting, a report was presented by the BSF on the need for fencing on the border, which was sent to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by the state officials. Only after this, the Chief Minister decided to give land to the Border Security Force.
