Mahakumbh Nagar, 09 February: Crowd of devotees, pilgrims and tourists are keep on coming in Prayagraj Mahakumbh for the holy dip in the Sangam. By 10 am on Sunday, more than 76.33 lakh devotees have taken a holy dip. More stringent arrangements have been made for the safety of the devotees.
Additional Fair Officer Mahakumbh Vivek Chartedi said that by 10 am on Sunday, more than 10 lakh Kalpavasis and 66.33 lakh devotees have taken a holy dip. Devotees are taking a holy dip at various ghats of the holy confluence of the purifying mother Ganga, Yamuna and the subterranean Saraswati. By 10 am, more than 76.33 lakh devotees have taken a dip. The arrival of pilgrims continues.
In the 144th year of Maha Kumbh, till February 8, over 42 crore devotees have taken sacred bath in such a holy coincidence, pilgrims are still arriving. In view of security, the rescue team, water police and divers have been constantly monitoring and tightening all the bathing ghats. To maintain crowd control, devotees who have taken bath from the ghats are being taken out by constantly shouting.
Ban on entry of vehicles in the fair area
Senior Superintendent of Police Maha Kumbh and Police Commissioner Prayagraj have restricted the entry of all big vehicles on the road entering the fair area. This ban will continue till the crowd of devotees becomes less. Entry of all except ambulance and fire brigade for emergency service will be banned.
The administration says that the purpose of these changes is to ensure the safety of the devotees coming to the Kumbh area. Devotees have been appealed to follow the guidelines of the administration and cooperate in avoiding any kind of chaos.
