CBI arrests 6 DTC officials on corruption and bribery charges

New Delhi, February 12: After the departure of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government from Delhi, action has started in corruption cases, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested six officials of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on charges of corruption and bribery.

The investigation agency had received several complaints of corruption and bribery in the Delhi Transport Department from Delhi to Gurugram border. After investigating the complaints, the investigation agency arrested six officials of Delhi Transport Department.

BJP was attacking AAP and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal on corruption cases in Delhi Assembly elections. During the election campaign, BJP leaders had accused Arvind Kejriwal and many ministers of Delhi government of corruption. Senior BJP leaders had promised in election rallies to take strict action in corruption cases if they form government in Delhi.

After the election results, AAP was ousted from power in Delhi. AAP had to be satisfied with only 22 seats and BJP has come into majority with 48 seats. Although the new government has not been formed in Delhi yet, the investigating agency has started action against corruption at its own level.
