Lucknow, 16 February: After the rush and crush incident in Delhi, vigilance has been beefed up at the railway stations of all the districts including the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The District Magistrates and the Police chiefs inspected the stations along with the railway officials and took information about the security arrangements for the passengers and gave necessary instructions.
After the crowd of Maha Kumbh and the stampede in Delhi, security arrangements have been escalated at all the railway stations including Charbagh in Lucknow. In view of this, Joint Police Commissioner Law and Order Amit Verma and DCP Central Raveena Tyagi inspected the Charbagh station on Sunday.
JCP LAO told the reporters that being the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Junction and Charbagh station remain very busy. Arrangements have been made keeping in mind that the passengers do not face any kind of problem. GRP and RPF have been kept alert at all the railway stations of Lucknow.
Verma apprised that an appeal has also been made to the railways to keep informing passengers about the trains coming and going towards their destination. The system should be very tight so that there is no problem of any kind. Apart from Lucknow, the police and railways are being vigilant at the stations of all districts including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Gorakhpur Fatehpur, Kanpur Central.
Railway ADG Prakash D has given instructions to maintain high level security arrangements at all railway stations in UP. He said in his order that GRP duty should be imposed on railway foot over bridges. Take special care that there is no chaos in any kind of crowd. Maintain security arrangements at stations by coordinating with GRP, Railways and RPF.
