Mahakumbh Nagar, 23 February: It is the 42nd day of Maha Kumbh Mela and the flow of devotees in Maha Kumbh Mela is not stopping. Due to Sunday being a holiday, a large number of people are reaching Sangam city. With only 4 days left for Maha Kumbh Mela, the enthusiasm of the devotees is at its peak. People are reaching Maha Kumbh Mela with enthusiasm. Crowds are seen everywhere on the ghats.
CM Yogi has arrived today: CM Yogi Adityanath reached Prayagraj today as well at Maha Kumbh at 1.45 pm. He will attend the 149th birth anniversary celebrations of Gadge Maharaj. He will inspect the preparations for the Mahashivratri bath.
Chief Minister will visit the camp of Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati Maharaj of Kanchi Kamakoti in Sector 20 and meet him and have a spiritual discussion. This will be the 13th visit of the Chief Minister to the Maha Kumbh Mela since January which is a record in itself. Extensive security arrangements have been put in place in view of the arrival of the CM.
It is worth noting that Maha Kumbh Mela, which started on January 13, will end on February 26 with Mahashivratri snan.
Crowd gathered on weekend: Huge crowd gathered on Saturday on the weekend. More than 1.11 crore people took a dip on Saturday. After Saturday, a flow of devotees is reaching Maha Kumbh since midnight of Sunday. Due to this, there is a jam on all the roads leading to the fair. Vehicles are moving ahead slowly. Due to the crowd, the city and highways are in the grip of jam. Therefore, to control the crowd of the fair, outside vehicles have been stopped on 7 entry routes. Officers have been deployed on all these routes. Vehicles are being parked in the designated parking space only.
Jam situation from Prayagraj to highway: Massive bottleneck situation from the highway to the city intersection in Prayagraj. Also, huge jam witnessed at Malak Harhar intersection and Phaphamau on Prayagraj Lucknow Highway. Also, heavy jam on the highway coming from Varanasi to Prayagraj. There is also a huge jam on the road connecting Mirzapur to Prayagraj. The highway coming from Kanpur to Prayagraj is packed with vehcles. There is also a long line of vehicles queued up at most of the intersections of the city. There is a jam at the intersections in Jhunsi, Naini, Dhoomanganj, Kydganj, Alopibagh and Daraganj.
It is worth mentioning that there is a 20 kilometer long jam in Prayagraj. Due to this, people are facing difficulties. There is a long queue of vehicles on other routes including Rewa, Varanasi and Kanpur. Due to the holiday, a large number of devotees have started arriving since night. There is a situation of severe jam on Prayagraj city and highway since morning.
Police implemented diversion plan: In view of the jam, the police administration has implemented the diversion plan. All vehicles are being diverted by the administration from Kokhraj bypass to Phaphamau Bela Kachhar parking. With this, devotees can easily reach Mahakumbh and take bath. At the same time, the vehicles of devotees are being stopped 10 kilometers before the Sangam coast. From there people are being sent to the ghat on foot.
Only UP 70 vehicles are allowed entry in the city: Due to increasing traffic pressure, only vehicles with UP 70 number i.e. vehicles of the citizens of the city were allowed entry in the city. Vehicles from other districts and other states traveling on the seven main entry routes of the fair were parked in the respective parking. However, at some places, there was a jam due to the arbitrariness of vehicle and e-rickshaw drivers. But due to the promptness of the officers, the situation improved later.
Deployment of one officer on one route: In view of the crowd on the second day of the weekend, Sunday, and then on the main bathing festival Mahashivratri, seven officers have been deployed on seven entry routes of Prayagraj. These officers will be responsible for making the traffic smooth and safe in Prayagraj. It has also been said that ADG Traffic will take input of the crowd from other districts and improve the system with other officers. Let us tell you that till now more than 60 crore devotees have taken a bath in Sangam in Maha Kumbh.
Crowd at railway station and airport too: There is a lot of crowd at the airport including Prayagraj Junction. The number of people coming to Maha Kumbh is making new records every day. Railways has controlled the crowd by creating a holding area. At the same time, chartered and regular flights are continuously landing and taking off at the airport. New records are being made and broken every day due to the movement of passengers and airplanes at Prayagraj airport. Due to the crowd, the railways have canceled 67 trains to run as many special trains as possible. More short-distance trains are being run. These trains have been canceled between February 22 and March 1.
More than 70 lakh people have taken bath till 12 noon: More than 70 lakh people have taken bath till 12 noon: 70.92 lakh people have taken bath till 12 noon on Sunday. Since the beginning of Maha Kumbh, a total of about 62 crore people have taken a dip in the Sangam. More than 1.5 crore people are expected to take a dip today. On Sunday, ministers, former chief ministers, former ministers, MPs and other dignitaries from many states will reach Sangam in Prayagraj and take a dip of faith.
