Lucknow, 25 February: Two absconding accused have been detained in the case of rape and assault on girls on the pretext of marriage in two different police station areas in the capital Lucknow. A non-bailable warrant was issued against one of the accused. After which the accused reached the police station on Tuesday and surrendered.
A girl had registered a case in Wazirganj police station on 28 August 2024. In this, she alleged that Mohammad Naveed, a resident of Hiraman Purwa in Kanpur city, had physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage. When she put pressure for marriage, man refused to marry and abused and beat her. In this case, the victim has registered a case against the youth. The police were searching for the accused. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him. On this, the accused reached the police station and surrendered. The police took him into custody and started further action.
Similarly, in Hussainganj police in Lucknow Commissionerate has nabbed Bunty Kashyap, a resident of Mohalla Bijli Pura in Shahjahanpur district, in the case of sexual exploitation and abuse on the pretext of marriage and threatening to kill. A girl had filed a case against him on December 27, 2024 that the accused exploited her on the pretext of marriage. Now when she is pressurizing for marriage, the accused is threatening her. He is threatening to beat her and kill her. Police has started further action against the accused.
