Mirzapur, 27 February: The Anti-corruption team caught an station house officer (SHO) Chilh police station pants down while taking bribe and dragged him to the city police station. The video of this entire incident has been viral on various social media platforms.
The case is of a village in Chilh police station area, where the victim party had gone to the police to register a case of molestation and rape of a girl. But instead of providing justice, the police station in-charge demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000. The victim family somehow managed to collect Rs 30,000 and came to give it, but giving this amount proved to be too much for the police station in-charge.
The victim family informed the Anti-corruption team about this illegal business. As soon as the SHO took Rs 30,000 as bribe, the team reached the spot and caught him red handed.
During the arrest, an SHO tried to run away but the team dragged him to the city police station. The video of this high-voltage drama is rapidly going viral, in which the accused SHO can be clearly seen being dragged away.
After the video surfaced, questions have started being raised on the credibility of the police department among the general public.
