Imphal, March 10: The Assam Rifles, along with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Manipur Police, destroyed 10 acres of illegal opium cultivation on Koubru Ridge in Kotjim village of Kangpokpi district.
The Assam Rifles spokesperson said on Monday that about 50 kg of opium was expected to be produced in this area.
The aim of this action of the security forces is to eliminate illegal opium cultivation in the state and disrupt the drug trade associated with it. Security agencies are continuously running campaigns to stop the growing opium cultivation and drug smuggling in Manipur.
