Noida, March 10: The Deputy Commissioner of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) department posted in Ghaziabad, Sanjay Singh, committed suicide by jumping from the 14th floor of Apex Society located in Sector 75, Noida on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Singh posted in GST office in Ghaziabad lived in a flat on the 14th floor of Apex Society. Today around 11 am, he jumped from the balcony of his flat. He died on the spot. One of his sons is studying in a university located in Greater Noida. He was very troubled by cancer. Family members say that due to this he committed suicide.
DCP Central Shakti Mohan Awasthi said that information was received about an officer posted in the GST department committing suicide by jumping from the flat. The police reached the spot and took the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem. The matter is being investigated.
