Lucknow, 24 January: The three-day UP Diwas celebrations on the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh began with a colourful program on Friday at Awadh Shilpgram in Lucknow. The ceremony was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Chief Minister Yogi gifted ‘Atal Residential School’
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given the gift of ‘Atal Residential School’ scheme to the people of the state. This is the biggest scheme in the country. Especially for the children of Dalits, backward, labours and belonging to the unpriviledged class. The Chief Minister has prepared the entire outline of these residential schools started in the name of ‘Atalji’. In these schools, priority will be given to children coming from Dalit and backward families. These will be residential schools and along with the ‘world-class education’ of the children here, the government will also make arrangements for their living and eating.
The scheme will be implemented in 18 mandals of the state
The Atal scheme will be implemented in all 18 mandals of the state. This is the first and unique scheme in any state with such facilities for the children of the laborers. The Chief Minister inaugurated digital schemes related to the districts. He also laid the foundation stone of Balrampur Medical College, SGPGI and Balrampur Tribal Museum on this occasion and signed MoU related to Khadi Board.
After independence, the state was renamed Uttar Pradesh on January 24. Previous governments in the state did not celebrate this day. This practice was started by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the year 2017 with the inspiration of the then Governor Ramnaik.
He had announced One District, One Product (ODOP) on the first Foundation Day, while ‘Vishwakarma Shram Samman’ was launched in 2018 on the second Foundation Day. Now on the third foundation day, Yogi has given the gift of ‘Atal Residential School’. While Uttar Pradesh day will end on Republic Day on January 26.
Governor and Chief Minister, including other dignitaries visited the exhibition
An exhibition based on the history of the state has also been organized. Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma along with Tourism, Charitable and Culture Minister Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, Khadi Village Industries and MSME Minister Siddharth Nath Singh, Labor Minister Swami Prasad Maurya and other officials saw the exhibition.
Archival book released
Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other guests released the archival book of the Culture Department. This was followed by a screening of the tourism department’s film. Sports talents and entrepreneurs were also honoured on this occasion.
The Rani Laxmibai Award was conferred on Ms. Parul Chaudhary, Ms. Shiva Singh, Ms. Mayial Khan, Ms. Amrita Pandey and Reddy with a sum of Rs 3 lakh, 11 thousand and a citation. While the Laxman Award was conferred on Saurabh Chaudhary, Diwakar Ram, Rahul Dubey, Shreyansh Kumar, Chaman Singh, Abhishek Yadav, Shivpal Singh, Rajeev Tomar and Satyendra Kumar with a sum of Rs 3 lakh, 11 thousand and a citation.

Glimpses of mythological culture of UP were presented
At Awadh Shilpagram, glimpses of the mythological cultures of the state were presented by the artists.
On this occasion, the children engraved the culture of Awadh with the recitation of Shriramcharit Manas. The children recited the chanting of ‘Mangal Bhavan Amangal Haari, Dravhu Sudasrath Ajir Bihari,’ Ram Kaj Kinhe Binu Mohi Kahan Bishram ‘of Ram-Ram Jai Raja Ram, Ram-Ram Jai Sitaram, Ramcharit Manas. After this, folk artists of Braj performed Krishnotsava. Whereas in the cultural presentation of Bundelkhand finished with ‘Ram Raja Sarkar … Lal Hanuman of Agni …β by King Ramchandra’s Jai. The Faujdar Singh Alha of Jaunpur and the pie-danda dance of Ramesh Pal of Banda also attracted a lot of people. The performance of Dhobia folk dance of Jeevan Ram of Ghazipur on this occasion also impressed everyone.
Water conservation and environmental pollution control painting at the UP Day
A miniature painting exhibition based on Krishna and Mahabharata has been organized by the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Lalit Kala Academy. On a hundred feet canvas, paintings on water conservation and environmental pollution control have also been installed. This painting has penetrated water conservation, pollution control and other life-saving education. A miniature painting exhibition based on Krishnotsav and Deepotsav from the Tourism Department, Ram’s World Tour from the Ayodhya Research Institute and Krishna and Mahabharata has been organized by the Braj Development Board.
Exhibition of ODOP has been organized by Khadi Village Industries Department. A seminar will also be organized on behalf of this department regarding one district-one product.
On this occasion, a health fair will be organized by the Health Department for three days, in which Ayushman cards are being distributed. On the three days, many programs related to Kanya Sumangala Yojana will be organized by the Women Welfare Department.
