SC collegium sends names of 8 HJS officers for Allahabad HC judges

Prayagraj, 04 April: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended eight HJS officers of the district judge level to be made judges of the Allahabad High Court.

With the assumption of charge by these eight new and three transferred judges (Justice Arindam Sinha, Justice CD Singh and Justice Yashwant Verma), the total number of judges in Asia’s largest Allahabad High Court will become 89. In this High Court with 160 judges, currently only 78 judges are working apart from the Chief Justice.

The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Justice Sanjeev Khanna has recommended the judicial officers to be promoted and made High Court judges, including Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Abdul Shahid, Anil Kumar-Dasham, Tej Pratap Tiwari, Sandeep Jain, Avnish Saxena, Madan Pal Singh, Harveer Singh.
