Ayodhya, 6 April: Grand ‘Abhishek’ ceremony has begun with the chanting of Vedic rituals for the birthday of Shri Ram Lalla on the auspicious occasion of ‘Ram Navami’ falling on the ninth day of ‘Chaitra Navratri’ at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. Divine ‘Surya Tilak’ ( celestial event in which sun rays directly fall on forehead of Ram Lalla) on the forehead of Shri Ram Lalla took place at 12 noon for the next four minutes.
For Ram devotees, live broadcast is being done on Doordarshan from the temple today.
The Abhishek ceremony of the Ram Lalla has started at 9.30 am, which continued for one hour. Later, the Ram Lalla was adorned with new attire on his birthday, also 56 types of food (prasad) was offered to the Lord Ram Lalla.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust is celebrating Ram Janmotsav with great pomp. The temple premises have been decorated attractively.
Trust’s general secretary Champat Rai said that on the occasion of Chaitra Ram Navami, Ram Lalla will be born at exactly 12 noon and from that time onwards, his family deity ‘Surya’ will anoint him with his rays for the next four minutes. After the anointment, the Lord will be adorned. After that, 56 bhogs will be offered to the Lord. Lord Shri Ram has taken birth in the Surya dynasty. That is why the Surya Tilak program is being held every year.
In the temple, Shri Ramcharitmanas and Valmiki Ramayana are being recited every morning since Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. A huge crowd of lakhs of devotees has gathered in Ayodhya to witness the birth of Lord Shri Ram. The administration has made tight security arrangements.
