New Delhi, April 16: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has started preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. In view of this, the Commission has started training the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of Bihar.
About 280 BLAs associated with 10 recognized political parties of Bihar are participating in the two-day training program organized at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi. During the training,
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar along with Election Commissioners Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr Vivek Joshi addressed the BLAs. BLAs were informed about their appointment, role and responsibilities.
BLAs are appointed by recognized political parties and play an important role in ensuring error-free voter list as per the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
