PM visited every stalls one by one to increase enthusiasm of craftsmen
Varanasi, 16 February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the craftsmen that in view of the changing world, time and demand, the old tradition needs to be adapted and refined according to the needs of the 21st century. This is possible only when there is institutional support with tradition. We do not have the scarcity of resources and skills, just need to work with a comprehensive mindset. For the last five years, the government has been making continuous efforts in this direction.
On Sunday, the Prime Minister was addressing craftsmen and foreign buyers by inaugurating ‘Kashi Ek-Roop Anek’ handicraft exhibition organized by the UP Institute of Design Institute at Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay handicraft complex located in Baralalpur.
After visiting the stall one by one in the exhibition, the Prime Minister said that after taking full knowledge of the product from the handicrafts, it has been the power of India that a particular art and product has been connected in every region and district. He said that there has been a tradition in India for centuries and businessmen have propagated it in the world. Spices are stocked with crafts. Every product has its own specialty and story. Artistic products are being made in tribal areas.
The Prime Minister appreciated the State Government, especially Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the ‘One District-One Product’ (ODOP) scheme, and said that the well-known artist craftsmen are under one roof. This is the inspiration of ODOP. It will also help in building India into a five trillion economy.
The Prime Minister said that before 2014, the ordinary weavers and exporters of Banaras could not communicate online, because there was no stage then. The then governments did not have the money or understanding, it cannot be said. Every person needs to be empowered and self-supporting. Many centers have been set up all over the country where common handicraft products can be displayed.
โThe government is now making new schemes for MSMEs. Small businesses will now get benefits from government procurement to logistics. Small traders have been linked to a platform. The digital system will facilitate refund to exporters. Logistics has changed from GST. National logistic policy is being prepared in the country. This will also help in employment,โ Modi informed.
He further said that imports of such products will be less which are being manufactured in India. The Prime Minister said that with the implementation of GST, there has been a big change in logistics. This change is being strengthened.
He informed that tax collection is being paperless. The Prime Minister emphasized that the colleagues of MSME had to get tangled in papers on one crore turnovers but now it has got freedom. Now the audit has been kept for more than 50 million people.
The Prime Minister said that in this year’s budget a provision of 3700 crores has been made for the Defense Corridor. Defense companies who came to the Defense Expo held in Lucknow recently showed interest in investing here. Many companies have also signed MoUs. Small industries will also benefit from this. All employment opportunities will also come up.
He said that the creation and ease of growing business is the medium of employment generation. He said that today it is the result of the government’s thinking and approach that now new schemes are being made for MSMEs. The Prime Minister also released the e-commerce portal in the meeting.
During this, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath, State Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Cabinet Minister Siddharth Nath Singh, Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon, Minister of State Udaybhan Singh, Chairman of UP Institute of Design Institute, Dr. Shipra etc. were present. During this time, craftsmen along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also presented a memento to the Prime Minister.
