New Delhi, February 27: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar targeted the Congress over the incidents of violence in Delhi, saying that it was all due to misrepresentation by the leaders of Congress party. This is not a two-day violence but people have been being instigated for two months.
He accused the Congress leadership of inciting people over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), saying that after the passage of this law, there was a rally of Sonia Gandhi at Ramlila Maidan from where the work of misleading people had started.
In a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, Prakash Javadekar said that after the passage of the CAA from Parliament, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had said in a rally that it was a cross-border battle and people would have to decide whether on this side or beyond. He said that the work of inciting people under the pretext of this law had started from there.
After this, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that millions will be held captive through CAA, those who do not fight will be called cowards.
Whereas former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also provoked the protesters and said that do not afraid, Congress is with you.
Javadekar said that by knowing the fact that CAA is all about giving citizenship not taking despite that deliberately create such false statements and fears.
He said that on Wednesday, Sonia Gandhi held a press conference and reached the President’s doorstep today and blaming the BJP there.
The Union Minister said that the violence in Delhi was due to inaccurate hyperboles.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar asked why other political parties were silent on the attack on the policemen and on the death of Intelligence Bureau staffer Ankit Sharma.
In the year 1984, Rajiv Gandhi said that if a tree shakes, many leaves fall. At the same time, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that this is a cross-border fight over CAA.
He said that AAP councilor Tahir Hussain has been accused of violence in the past. He is also named in the December 20 violence case, and chemicals and firearms were recovered from his house, which showed that they were preparing for riots.
Union Minister accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of why they are silent in Tahir’s case.
Javadekar also hit out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that instead of going to the riot-hit areas, he was telling the religion of those who died in these riots in the Delhi assembly.
