NIV confirms presence of corona virus in Uttar Pradesh, five Agra patients infected with COVID-19

Lucknow, March 05: The novel Corona virus disease (COVID-19) has been found in five Agra patients in Uttar Pradesh. The National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune confirmed this on Thursday evening.

Samples of six patients from Agra were sent to NIV Pune for examination. However, the health department received an inquiry report late this evening from the NIV wherein samples from five of the six Agra patients have come positive, however, sample of one patient has been found negative.

Vikassendu Aggarwal, joint director of Infectious Diseases Department, said that the investigation report has been received from NIV Pune. In this, COVID-19 has been confirmed in five patients.

Significantly, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire world, including India, due to the corona virus coming from Chinaโ€™s Wuhan city.

Though, State Health Minister Jayapratap Singh had claimed this afternoon that there are no patients infected with corana virus in UP.

He held a press conference saying that samples of 175 suspected patients were taken in the state, out of which 157 reports have been negative. But in the evening report, corona has been confirmed in five patients. Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, there is news of corona virus found in a patient.
