Crime: Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrests four Muslim youth for fake news on health of Amit Shah

Ahmedabad, 09 May: Ahmedabad Crime Branch has registered a case against four people for spreading a rumour regarding the health of Union Home Minister Amit Shah which was getting viral on various micro-blogging sites, police said.

The police have also arrested four accused residents of Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad. On the other hand, refuting these rumours, Amit Shah has confirmed on Twitter that he is healthy.

Those who arrested are Feroz Khan, Jafar Khan Pathan and Sarfaraz Abdul Majeed Memon of Bhavnagar. Apart from this, two Sajjad Ali Bachubhai Nayani and Siraj Hussain Mohammad Ali Virani are from Ahmedabad, police informed.

Ahmedabad Crime Branch Joint Police Commissioner (JPC) Ajay Tomar apprised on Saturday that a post claiming about the poor health of Amit Shah had been shared on Twitter.

However, this post was completely wrong. The police crime branch registered a case against four persons as soon as the matter came to notice, Tomar informed.  

He said that the police have arrested four people on charges of spreading false information by creating fake accounts on social media and they are being questioned.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “I don’t have any disease. I am busy with my work from morning till late night.

He said, “Thank you also to those who pray for my death. In a tweet, Home Minister Shah wrote that in the last few days some friends have spread many rumours about my health through social media. He is not suffering from any disease”.
