Prayagraj, June 06: As many as seven people have been arrested on Friday night by the joint team of Crime Branch and Soraon police station, revealing the racket that exhorted money from other people on the pretexts of offering jobs in the ongoing recruitment of sixty nine thousand teachers, police said.
The team has recovered two four-wheelers, Rs 24 lakh 50 thousand cash and documents related to teachers’ recruitment from their possession.
The arrested gang members included KL Patel, a resident of Kapsa village in Bahria police station area, Rudrapati Dubey, a resident of Koiruna Bari village of Bhadohi, Shashi Prakash Saroj, a resident of Purna Lai village of Bhadwana in Nawabganj police station area and his father Harikrishna’s son Jagannath, Khidirpur of Nawabganj Ranjeet, a resident of the village, is Kamlesh Patel, a resident of Kasturipur village of Holagarh police station area, and Alok Verma, a resident of Mirzapur, however, kingpin of the gang is absconding.
Giving the above information, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Crime Ashutosh Mishra said that the team has confiscated a motor cycle, a Fortuner car, a Bolero, a folder file related to the result, photographs of 17 candidates, along with other documents and Rs 24 lakh 50 thousand deposited from the candidates for recruitment from the possession of the gang.
“Significantly, on May 26, Rahul, a resident of Bahuchara village of Lalganj police station area of ​​Pratapgarh had filed a complaint in Soraon police station that said some people have fraudulently taken eight lakh and fifty thousand rupees in the name of providing teachers job in the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers,” ASP told.
“After the filing of the case, Crime Branch was investigating the matter on the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj resulting in fraudsters were nabbed on Friday night,” Mishra added.
