New Delhi, June 11: With the spike of corona cases in the country, there is also a shortage of Covid beds in hospitals, especially in those states where corona cases are surging very rapidly. These include Delhi and Maharashtra.
On this grim situation, Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry said that the states have been asked to make all arrangements in hospitals for such a situation. Along with this, people should also follow the guidelines of the helpline of the states. States should make public the number of beds available in their hospitals with the help of technology.
Statistics are prepared based on the information of the states
On the controversy arising over the hiding of death figures, Lav Agarwal said that the figures are prepared on the basis of the information of the states. Therefore, complete transparency is adopted in this work. Some states have instituted death audits to confirm the death from Corona. Therefore, the Centre produces death figures based on the data received from the states.
