New Delhi, 30 June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again addressed the country on the eve of the launch of Unlock-2. During this time he put an end to all the speculation and said that now the festive season has arrived while fighting the corona. In such a situation, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) has been extended till November, so that no poor and destitute starve to sleep.
In his address, the Prime Minister also mentioned about ‘One nation One ration card’ and said that it would benefit the migrant from one state to another.
At the same time, during the lockdown, the Prime Minister appealed to all to not take any carelessness while asking them to faithfully follow Covid-19 protocols by covering the face by mask or cotton clothes, wash one’s hand and social distancing.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister in his sixth address put an end to all the speculation already going on.
Before the address such speculations were being made that the Prime Minister would speak a little bit about the betrayal of China or the vaccination of Corana, etc. But in the 15 minutes address around 4 pm, he gave full credit to the fight of Corona to the farmers and income tax payers.
He said that if no one could sleep hungry due to the grain produced from farmers and it was easy to fight this difficult battle due to income tax payers.
The Prime Minister said that more work is done mainly in the agricultural sector during and after the rainy season. There is a slight slowness in other sectors. Gradually, festivals also start forming from July. Gurupurnima on July 5, then Sawan, 15 August, Rakshabandhan, Krishna Janmashtami and so forth, there is worship of Dussehra, Deepavali and Chhath Maiya, which increases expenses as well as needs.
The Prime Minister said that keeping in mind all these things, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has now been extended till Deepawali and Chhath Puja i.e. November. With this, this scheme, which provides free food grains to 80 crore people, will now be applicable in July, August, September, October, November as well.
For these five months more than 80 crore poor families will be provided 5 kg of wheat or rice free to every member of the family for these five months. Also, one kilo of gram per month will also be given free to each family. Over 90 thousand crore rupees will be spent on this expansion.
He said that is why the government brought the PMGKY as soon as the lockdown starts. Under this scheme, a package of Rs. 1 lakh crore was given to the poor.
The Prime Minister said that one nation one ration card is also being arranged. This benefit will be given to those poor migrants who leave their village and go elsewhere for employment or other requirements, to another state.
Citing the current situation of Corona, the Prime Minister said that on a global level, the death rate of Corona has been very stable compared to other countries. Timely lockdowns and other decisions have saved the lives of millions of people in India.
He cautioned everyone for this and said that since Unlock-1 has happened in the country, negligence in personal and social behaviour has been increasing. Previously, we were very cautious about wearing mask, social distancing and washing hands several times a day for 20 seconds, but now when more vigilance is needed, increasing carelessness is a cause for great concern.
Referring to the fine of 13,000 imposed on a prime minister during his address, he said that he was fined because he went to the public place without wearing a mask. In India also, the local administration should work with this agility. It is a campaign to protect 130 crore countrymen. In India, no one is head of the village or the prime minister of the country and no one is above the rules.
The Prime Minister also said that his efforts will be further intensified in the coming years so that continuous work will be done to empower everyone, the poor, the afflicted, the exploited and the deprived. Taking all precautions, work will be done to further the economic activity. Day and night wok will be done for self-reliant India. There will be local for vocal.
