Lucknow, July 10: During the Unlock-2 in the state, the infection is spreading rapidly due to the negligence of people against coronavirus and not following the Covid-19 rules. In view of this, the government on Friday issued a notification to increase the penalty amount for not wearing masks in public places.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the authorities to prevent unnecessary traffic and make use of the mask compulsory.

He said on Friday that the public should be made aware on a wide scale about the use of the mask, adopting two yards distance and not stepping out of the house unnecessarily.

He has also instructed the authorities to hike the fine on people without putting on masks in public places.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that in this episode, a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed for violation of rules in the first place. After this, each time a person is found without wearing a mask, a fine of Rs 500 will be charged each time.

He said that this has been done due to people taking the rules carelessly and not following it. So far, a fine of Rs 100 is charged in the first time. A notification in this regard has been issued today.

In fact, fines are being imposed on people venturing out without wearing masks, not covering mouth and nose with handkerchiefs or cotton cloth in public places in the state. So far, there was a rule to impose a fine of Rs 100 for violating the rules for the first time, Rs 100 for the second time and Rs 500 for each violation with the third time. But, due to the negligence of the people, now the government has increased the penalty amount.
