Lucknow, July 15: As the graph of coronavirus infection surging rapidly in the state, the state of Uttar Pradesh has achieved a major achievement in the matter of total corona testing. Uttar Pradesh has now come third in the country in terms of maximum corona screening after Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
State’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Wednesday that a total of 12, 77,241 swab samples have been tested in the state so far. It took Uttar Pradesh four months to do the first 06 lakh tests and we reached this figure on 24 June. Testing of the next 06 lakh samples was completed in just 20 days and now the figure of 12 lakh has also been crossed.
He assured that maybe we will soon jump to second slot due to the rapid testing of more swab samples.
Better performance in case of testing per positive case
Additional Chief Secretary Health said that in terms of per positive case, Uttar Pradesh has come in very good condition. In states like Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra where corona cases are high, we are testing more positive cases from these states.
He said that there are only two states, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, which have tested more positive cases than us. At the speed at which we are moving forward, it is likely that in a week or two, we should overtake these states.
1,685 new cases of infection were reported in the last 24 hours
ACS Health said that the number of active cases of Corona has now reached to 14,628 in 75 districts. So far, 25,743 people have been sent back to their respective homes after being fully recovered after treatment. In the last twenty four hours, 1,685 new cases of infection have been reported in the state. At the same time, a total of 1012 people have died due to this deadly virus in the entire state.
Maximum 45,302 corona samples tested on Tuesday
He said that a new bench mark has been established in the state on Tuesday for the corona screening to be done on Tuesday. For the first time, this figure has crossed 45 thousand. The highest ever 45,302 corona samples were tested in various laboratories of the state.
16,760 samples tested through 3,009 pools
He said 16,760 samples were tested through 3,009 pools on Tuesday. Five samples were tested per pool through 2,666 pools, of which 336 pools were positive. At the same time, ten samples were tested per pool through 343 pools, out of which 73 pools were positive.
โEarlier on Monday, 16,055 samples were tested through 2,829 pools. Five samples were tested per pool through 2,447 pools, of which 366 pools were positive. At the same time, ten samples were tested per pool through 382 pools, out of which 71 were positive,โ Prasad added.
14,635 people admitted to isolation ward
Officer further told that there are currently 14,635 people admitted to the isolation ward in the state. There are 4,021 people in the facility quarantine. In the facility quarantine, people who have been in contact with corona infected have been admitted, however, being in the hotspot, they have symptoms or are prone to infection.
2.56 lakh people have been called regarding Aarogya Setu app
He informed that the alerts received by those who download the ‘Aarogya Setu’ app in the state, are being sent to the respective districts. However, through the control room, people who have come in contact with the infected people are being called and informed them about it. Now the Chief Minister Helpline-1076 is also helping in this and people are also being called through it. So far 2, 56,500 people have been called. They have been advised to be vigilant.
Health teams reach among 6.18 crore people
He informed that the health department teams are constantly reaching out and surveying people in different areas. So far, 1,66,957 teams have surveyed 6,18,57,644 crore people in 1,21,09,557 households in a total of 28,560 regions.
