Severe ‘Cold Waves’ hit Uttar Pradesh due to NW winds

Lucknow, 19 December: Due to the heavy snowfall in the mountains and moving of the northwest winds towards north India, the effect of these winds are seen in almost the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Meteorological Department, the condition of cold day conditions will remain in most of the districts of Uttar Pradesh. The cold wave condition in the state is messing up people’s daily routines and bonfire is only their saviour during harsh winter. ย 

Due to the snowfall in the mountains, the weather has taken a turn again and most districts of Uttar Pradesh are getting very cold.

In Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, cold wave has knocked. In this episode, minimum temperature in Balrampur district dropped below four degree Celsius marks on Saturday. The normal life has been disturbed by the winter.

Meteorological director JP Gupta said that the northwest wind is blowing in the state.

These winds coming from the mountains will increase the shivering and the maximum and minimum temperatures will remain below normal.

Although sunshine emerged in central Uttar Pradesh, people could not get much relief due to the cold winds. Freezing winds will continue from the northwest direction till December 20, which is expected to cause some further drop in day and night temperatures.

SN Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology informed on Saturday that the effect of icy winds is now affecting the entire of Uttar Pradesh. With this, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Amethi, Bahraich, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Barabanki, Unnao, Sitapur, Kanpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kannauj, Agra, Mathura, Farrukhabad, Hathras, Aligarh, Noida , Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Shamli, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bijnor, Hapur, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Moradabad, Amroha, Lakhimpur and surrounding areas continued to witness cold wave in the days to come.
