Kolkata, 06 February: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has started its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ on Saturday amidst stirring of assembly elections in Bengal.
With this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also coming to Bengal on Sunday. During his visit, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation four ambitious projects worth more than Rs 4,700 crore related to oil, gas and infrastructure in Haldia district of West Bengal.
It is being seen as an election gifts before the elections in Bengal. All these projects are linked to public sector companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Gas Authority of India (GAIL) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
IOC Director (Marketing) Gurmeet Singh said that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the second catalytic dewaxing unit (lubricant based oil factory) at Haldia Refinery. It will cost around Rs 1019 crore and is to be completed by April 2023. With this reduction in imports, the country will save foreign exchange of $ 185 million. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also given information about his visit by tweeting on Saturday evening.
Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have also been invited for this ceremony.
However, the possibility of Mamta joining it is very less. After the inauguration and foundation stone of government projects in Haldia, PM will also address people here.
The BJP claims that at least two lakh people will attend the Prime Minister’s meeting.
