Lucknow, 15 February: Mafia-turned-politician Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mukhtar Ansariโs sons Abbas Ansari and Umar Ansari were being grilled by the Hazratganj police on Monday under strict surveillance.
Meanwhile, both of them were recording their statements after granted stay of arrest from the court. After recording the statement, further action will be brought into consideration on the orders of the police officers.
However, A case of possession of land by fraud was registered in August 2020 against both in Hazratganj police station area.
The police had taken this action on the complaint of Lekhpal Surjan Lal.
As per the complaint, piece of land, on which a building was built in their names, was of Wasim, who had gone to Pakistan. After this the property was registered as evacuee. Thus, to acquire this piece of land, they prepared fake papers and got two towers built on the land.
Police had filed a case on Lekhpal’s complain. Meanwhile, both the towers have been demolished to remove illegal occupation.
Hazratganj in-charge Inspector Shyam Babu Shukla said that both of them have been granted stay of arrest from the court. Both of them have come here to record their statement after the pressure of the police. They are being questioned, both under police supervision.
Rs 25-25 thousand rewards was announced
According to the police, the Police raided several places to arrest the two sons of Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari, but they were on the run. On being caught, the police had declared a reward of 25-25 thousand rupees against both.
