Lucknow, 25 February: On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, a special campaign will be launched for Covid vaccination for women above 60 years in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Along with this, on March 10, various programs will be organized on the subject of economic independence of women. This was said by Additional Chief Secretary of the State, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi on Thursday.
He was speaking at a high-level meeting with Vimala Batham, chairperson of the Women’s Commission, on the subject of women’s economic independence under the Mission Shakti Abhiyan in the state.
In this campaign, instructions were given to provide a safer environment to women, to strengthen peace system, to effectively curb crimes and to get 100 percent benefit of government-run schemes.
ACS Home Awasthi directed the officers concerned that in order to get the facilities provided by medical and other departments to women, the review should be ensured by the concerned officer.
He said that effective action should be taken to make women economically independent so that the benefits of government-run schemes can be made available to women on priority. He instructed to pay special attention to the programs to be done under the mission power.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that during public hearing on Police Diwas and Tehsil Diwas, if it is found that any beneficiary is not getting the benefits of government schemes, then their data should be taken so that they can be benefited quickly.
Awasthi said that on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, a special campaign will be launched for the Covid vaccination of women above 60 years.
During this, it was told that on March 10, 2021, a large program is being organized in the auditorium room on the ground floor of the Women’s Commission Office in Lucknow, under which women who have achieved success by starting their own businesses, ventures, will be invited and honoured.
Along with this, participants will be informed about the efforts and success made by women entrepreneurs. Efforts will also be made to motivate women working in various institutions of Lucknow district in the program.
Women Commission Chairman Vimla Batham said that for the betterment of women, a detailed outline will be prepared by the commission and it will be implemented with priority from all concerned departments.
She informed that in the first phase selected 28 districts of the state Shamli, Farrukhabad, Meerut, Varanasi, Bijnor, Agra, Jhansi, Banda, Kanpur Nagar, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Sitapur, Barabanki, Prayagraj, Firozabad, Aligarh, Etah, Basti, Gorakhpur where various public awareness programs will be organized on March 3 in Pilibhit, Unnao, Sultanpur, Sonbhadra, Amethi, Hardoi, Deoria, Mathura and Bulandshahr.
During this period, women will be made aware of the information and benefits of various schemes like Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojna, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao etc. at the tehsil-block level of rural areas.
Along with this, programs will also be organized on March 4 in women-cum-education colleges operated at tehsil-block level in rural areas, online registration of eligible women present in these programs will also be done in the respective scheme.
