New Delhi, 06 March: The donation amount collected through fundraising drive towards the construction of grand Ram temple will cross Rs 2,500 crore, Champat Rai, Vice President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Nyas, said here on Saturday.
At a press conference at the media center on North Avenue here on Saturday, Champat Rai said that the final figures are yet to come. Nevertheless, based on the funds received till March 4, it can be said that it will cross Rs 2,500 crore.
He said that Ram devotees have donated in every nook and corner of the country.
During this, he gave a description of the states of the Northeast.
He informed that Rs 4.5 crore has been collected from Arunachal Pradesh, Rs 2 crore from Manipur, Rs 21 lakh from Mizoram, Rs 28 lakh from Nagaland and Rs 85 lakh from Meghalaya and Rs 85 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 13 crore from Kerala in the southern states.
In the context of ‘Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyanโ and the upcoming action plan for the construction of Ram temple’, Champat Rai said that in this intensive campaign, which runs from Makar Sankranti (January15) to Maghi Purnima (February 27), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and VHP activists participated in the country. They contacted ten crore families of more than four lakh villages of the country.
On the question of the government acquiring additional land for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Champat Rai said that the government had not acquired any land. He informed that the temple construction will be completed in the next 36 months.
Rai apprised that in this huge fundraising campaign, about 9 lakh workers in 1, 75,000 groups went door-to-door. While 49 control centres were set up across the country to maintain transparency of the entire campaign, 23 activists kept in constant contact with the entire India to monitor the accounts led by two chartered accountants at the main centre in Delhi.
โThe app, created by Hyderabad’s Dhanusha Infotech Company, acted as a strong bridge between activists, banks and trusts. He said that although the final figures are yet to come, on the basis of receipts till March 4, it can be said that the amount will cross 2500 crores,โ added Rai.
Regarding the status of temple construction, Champat Rai said that the work of foundation excavation and debris removal has been completed about 60 percent and it is expected that the work of foundation filling will start from April.
