High-speed construction of bridges on river Yamuna and Betwa
Lucknow, 06 March: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) Awanish Kumar Awasthi reviewed the construction work of upcoming Bundelkhand Expressway on Saturday.
In this meeting, apart from officials related to construction companies, all senior officials including other engineers of UPEIDA were present.
So far, about 47 percent of the physical work of the project has been completed; the bridges on the Yamuna and Betwa rivers falling under the project are under construction at a rapid pace.
The CEO of UPEIDA informed that the construction of the bridge being constructed on the Yamuna River will be completed in the shortest time and will establish the UPEIDA record in the country. Along with this, he was instructed to expedite the work related to structures along with speeding up ROB and RE panel construction; he also directed to speed up the construction of toll plazas.
Awasthi directed the remaining work of the soil to be expedited and the utility shifting under the project should also be carried out expeditiously, along with technical auditors, authority engineers and PIUs to conduct quality checks continuously. It was directed that the work of the project can be done with high quality.
The total length of the Bundelkhand Expressway project is 296 km and at present about 47 percent of the total physical progress of this project has been completed.
Awasthi informed that the construction work of Bundelkhand Expressway is being done on a war footing and work is being done on all flyovers at a rapid pace.
Chief Engineer in-charge of Bundelkhand Expressway Manoj Kumar Gupta said that the service road and other work by various EPC contractors are also in progress in the construction of the expressway.
In Bundelkhand Expressway so far, the work of clearing and grubbing is over 97 percent and soil work is more than 82 percent Has been completed Out of total 818, 490 structures i.e. more than half the work has also been completed. 04 railways over bridges, 14 long bridges, 06 toll plazas, 07 ramp plazas, 268 small bridges, 18 flyovers and 214 underpasses will be constructed on the expressway.
Bundelkhand Expressway will be made 04 lanes wide (6 lanes expandable) and structures of 06 lanes width. On one side of the expressway, a 3.75 meter widening service road will be built in a staggered form so that the residents of the village surrounding the project can have easy access to the expressway.
