New Delhi, 19 March: All the National Sports Confederations, which receive an amount of Rs. 1 crore or above, are reviewed by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. This information was given by Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju in response to a question asked in the Lok Sabha.
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said in a written reply in Lok Sabha on Friday that all recognized sports associations are audited by the CAG on an annual basis. For this, special emphasis is laid on the audit of those associations, which receive an amount of one crore rupees or more.
Rijiju said that apart from the annual audit, the government has been putting up various ways of national sports federations like updating the updated accounts on their website, conducting timely elections by sports associations, getting the controversy-free top spots, organizing various national and international tournaments properly.
While replying, the Union Minister also said that at present, there has been no case of any kind of doubt in his eyes.
