Mumbai, 23 March: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) will appeal to the NIA court on March 25 to take Sachin Vaje on remand for questioning in the Mansukh Hiren death case.
ATS Additional Director General (ADG) Jayjit Singh told reporters in Mumbai on Tuesday that Vimla Hiren, wife of Mansukh Hiren, had expressed suspicion of Sachin Vaze in his statement. After this, the ATS recorded the statements of Sachin Vaze. No evidence was found at the scene in the Mansukh death case. CCTV footage was also erased by the accused but after an investigation, Naresh Ramanikalal Gaur and Vinayak Shinde were arrested. Naresh Gaur bought 14 SIM cards from Gujarat which were used during the incident.
Police also recovered a Valvo car used in this incident on Tuesday morning.
Jayjit Singh said that Vinayak Shinde is a suspended policeman. He was serving a sentence in the 2007 Lakhanbhaiya encounter case in Versova, but due to Corona, he came out of prison on parole.
Similarly Naresh Gaur is a bookie. During an interrogation of these two, the name of Sachin Vaze has surfaced, so it is necessary to interrogate him.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) will appeal to the NIA court on March 25 to take Sachin Vaze on remand. Jayjeet Singh said that clues have been found about the involvement of about 8-9 people in this case.
